DJ Training Sessions
and some photos from the Open House
AT LONG LAST!
You can now register to join a DJ training session.
So far, there are 3 scheduled in May. Before we launch (very, very soon… I know you’re sick of hearing that), we’re going to line up some live shows so we don’t have to dive headfirst into only playing automated music. So, with live shows comes DJS (like yourself?) getting familiar with the mixing board and various audio equipment we have set up in the studio. This is just the starting point with training. After this initial one-hour session, there will be a one-on-one training session that’ll get you comfortable leading up to your first live show.
No one expects perfection or excellence. I’ve let a fear of failure stop me from a lot of things in life, but I’m telling you here and now… this is not scary stuff and will be taught plainly and as simply as possible.

And by the way, that means that our on-air date is rapidly approaching. The sooner we have DJs who are prepared to play their shows, the sooner we go live.
Not many words left after the Open House we had in April. It was an absolute delight to have people fill the space with chatter and excitement. We had 8 new show sign-ups. Not including the dozen or so already submitted via the Google Form.
Madeleine, our very first DJ, did an amazing job keeping the vibes high, and clips from Soul Train played on the computer monitor for some vibe fortification.
If you missed that event and want to see the space, you could always join us for a DJ training session. Perhaps if you were just tepid before about having a show, it’ll begin to burn hotly in your heart… ahh, right, I almost forgot about my love for early 40s Jazz music, say, or I’ve always wanted to talk for an hour straight to no one in particular, describing various birds I spotted in a given week.
And if you’ve already forgotten, remember now, this station is a labor of love from all sides. Your passion and heart can be in this thing as equally as mine has been. Which doesn’t mean you need to spend the greater part of your free time thinking about it, but even with as little or as much as you want to invest in this thing, your efforts will be rewarded. The low power in Low Power FM Station, in this case, translates to high effect. For it’ll be what we make of it, and I’m awfully sure it’s going to be great.

Kira Gets Real… Estate
In this episode, Kira Witherwax discusses the concept of value in real estate, emphasizing its often misunderstood nature. She explains the different types of property valuation, including appraisals, tax assessments, and comparative market analyses (CMA). Kira highlights the importance of understanding the purpose behind each valuation method and how they can differ significantly. She also delves into the emotional aspects of home value, advising homeowners to view their properties from a buyer's perspective. Throughout the conversation, Kira offers insights into the real estate market and encourages listeners to ask questions about their own property situations.
As always, if you feel inclined to contribute monetarily to this project, I urge you to consider becoming a monthly donor. We’ve got monthly bills, and although we’ve won a couple of grants already this year (YIPEE!!), most of that money isn't designated for recurring monthly expenses like rent, internet, or software subscriptions. So if it feels possible and easy and like a total no-brainer,
Stay tuned…
Nico
