We’ve got a lot of ideas for what a *healthy* radio dial sounds like. Commercial radio has all but killed community radio and we are here to say we can do this better. A variety of music genres and in-depth discussions about local and larger ideas, thoughts, and issues. The limit is only in the imagination. And we’ve got some big ideas among us. This is a community project. This is your station. What can you imagine this station to sound like?
Spend some time imagining what it could all sound like. Or tell a friend that their crazy stories should be on the radio.
We’re not there yet. We’re just starting this thing. Donate to build your community's radio station. It’s going to take every little dream and every little penny to get us there.
Where does your money go? Well… we’ve got a whole list of equipment we need to get started. Namely, the transmitter that needs to be LPFM-certified (read: pricey) and an antenna. As well as some other required items like an Emergency Alert System and… well… microphones! We’ve started a little wishlist on Sweetwater of some items we think would be helpful. However, the big items like a transmitter, antenna, and EAS need to be purchased elsewhere. We will send out more information on these larger purchases soon.
Also, we’ll be at the Keeseville Holiday Festival on December 14th on Front Street this year with a “mock” radio station set up. So you or your kids can pretend to be radio hosts for the evening or learn some more about the radio station and what it can do for the community.
We’re also planning a fundraising event soon. If you want to get involved either as an organizer, a sponsor, or an entertainer… reach out to us here or at wavgradio@gmail.com.

We just met some of the people behind a couple of those stations at the 2024 Grassroots Radio Conference in New Orleans and they are all excited to hear about our anticipated station.
